Chapter 11 Review Lesson plan

 

Objective: Students will be able to write about and discuss subject matter from chapter 11.

 

Instructional Sequence: This is the last chapter in the first unit of world history. They have already learned about the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe during this same time period.

 

Materials: Dum Dum suckers, Smart Board, Chapter 11 review sheet, two small white boards

 

Assessment plan: Students will be assessed through turning in the review worksheet and also students will be assessed through discussion in the review game.

 

Procedure:

 

Dum Dum Question: Students answer a random question at the beginning of the hour that gets the class started off. For getting the closest answer a student receives a dum dum sucker.

 

Students will have the first half of the class period to work on a review sheet that I have made for the chapter. Students can use a book and notes to answer the review questions.

 

The second half of class with by used to play a review game. For the game the students are put into two groups. There are two small boards. A pair of students from each team would come to the front of the classroom. Students will not be racing they both get points if they get the question correct. The students are all engaged because students in the front are members of their team.

 

Homework: Study for chapter 11 test.

 

Accommodations: There were no accommodations made for this lesson.

Objective: Students will be assessed on chapter 11 through multiple choice and essay questions.

 

Instructional Sequence: This is the last chapter in the first unit of world history. They have already learned about the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe during this same time period.

Assessment plan: Students will be assessed formally though a chapter test.

Procedure:

 

Students will have the entire hour to work on the chapter 11 test.

 

Students know when they finish it must be silent. They can work on other materials for other classes, read, draw ect.

 

At the end of the hour I will hand out the review sheet for the final exam. I also will show students the website Quizlet.com. This will show students how to play games and find answers to the review.

 

Homework: To start studying for their final exam the trimester.

 

Modifications: Specific students in my class receive accommodations for tests through IEP’s. Those students are allowed to get the test read to them in a small setting. They are sent to the resource room if they want to take that option.
